From a village in Buckinghamshire, Hannah Kennedy is a writer for stage, screen, audio and immersive media.
They were one of the twelve writers on Channel 4's esteemed 4Screenwriting course in 2024 and were a winner of the 2024 BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Competition for their feature film, The Fat Mermaid Club.
Selected for the Jed Mercurio & Amazon Mentorship Programme, Hannah is the mentee of writer and producer Steven Moffat OBE, best known for Sherlock and Doctor Who (BBC One).
Their play, Godmodders & Metagamers, was selected for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 37 Plays Project. Their works for theatre have been performed at The White Bear Theatre, The Showroom, Barons Court Theatre and the Guildford Fringe.
Their commitment to telling queer stories was recognised with their play, When We Die (What Will Become of Us?), winning the prestigious Nancy Dean Lesbian Playwriting Award in 2023. They are currently a member of BAFTA Connect.
In immersive media and video games, Hannah has worked as a narrative consultant for a VR game and was one of the creatives on the BFI funded Develop-Create XR Programme.
They are currently working on various audio dramas for Big Finish Productions, including the upcoming Doctor Who: Thirteenth Doctor Adventures. Their original TV drama show is currently under option and in development with a critically acclaimed production company.
